SSB4 Newcomer? Prince of Sable

The Prince of Sable is from Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru "For The Frog The Bell Tolls", a Japan-only GameBoy game.

You have most likely never heard of it. That doesn't really hurt his chances of appearing in SSB4 though.

Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru received an English fan translation recently, introducing the rest of the world to this amazing little game.

First off, there is a sticker of The Prince and his rival Prince Richard in Brawl.

Since For Frog The Bell Tolls was released in the early 90's, The Prince would be considered a Retro character, among the likes of Muddy Mole (who happens to have a huge fanbase this time around).

Plus, The Prince and Richard received votes in the official Melee and Brawl polls. Sakurai commented on the game at some point, but I can't find the original version of the poll to verify what he said.

However, The Prince's rival might have a better chance. He had an npc roll in Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

As a character, the Prince would utilize his Frog and Snake transformations in some way. Aether has a nice moveset for him, if you wanna check it out:

The Prince is kinda near the bottom of the massive list.

-Obscure* (Although popularity is rising due to fan-translation)
-Another sword user* (There are more fist users in Brawl than Sword users. There are too many fist users if anything. The more non-fist users we have, the better in my opinion.)
-Game is old, but not as old as old as most requested Retros.
-From Japan only game* (hasn't mattered in past ssb, so why should it now?)
-There are a few retro characters that would probably get a slot before this obscure game. (Duck Hunt Dog for example)
